Regulation & Compliance Awareness
Excavation remains one of the most hazardous tasks on any construction site, where even minor trench depths can collapse without warning. Proper shoring is therefore both a safety necessity and a legal obligation. Malaysian safety regulations require protection for trenches exceeding 5 ft (1.5 m), and Professional Engineer endorsement for deeper or complex excavations—commonly at thresholds of 4 m or 6 m, depending on the client’s safety standards.

Excavation
24. (1) A construction work contractor shall take all practicable steps to ensure that, including for the provision of supports or battering---
(a) no excavation or any part of an excavation collapses;
(b) no material forming the walls or roof of, or adjacent to, any excavation is dislodged or falls;
(c) no person is buried or trapped in an excavation by material which is dislodged or falls;
